ASC Trail Update

Happy Thanksgiving ASC fans,

We are updating everyone about our trails.  Provincially we will be entering this season with over 25,000 kms of OFSC Prescribed Trails.  A reduction of about 15% from the past few years.  The cost for equipment and maintenance has over doubled in the past 5 years and the permit revenue that pays for most of this has declined.  The reduction in trails as well as groomers has been presented as a cost savings measure to help keep our vast trail system open and enjoyable.

ASC lost 3 land parcels along trail 77 due to a new landowner not giving permission for the existing trail.  A reasonable reroute is not feasible so part of the provincial reduction is trail 77 from Dwight Beach to Limberlost Rd in the below pic:

We still have the rest of our trails…. Woo hoo 😊.

Last season D101B in Highland Rovers area was split due to a landowner not renewing their permissions. ASC and HR are diligently working together to reconnect this trail. Stay tuned for updates…
