ASC - Christmas Party Highlights

ASC - Christmas Party Highlights

If you missed the Christmas party, you missed an amazing event.

There was not only lots of food but it was top notch.

Truly a gourmet smorgasbord.

Thank you to everyone who attended, great job.

The "speeches" began with a thank you to many of those, behind the scenes, people who don't always get recognized.

Linda B, Ken C, John S, Dan B, Maurice H, Scott H, Scott D and Gerry D.

The biggest thank you went out to the ASC Executive.

Without them, there would be no trails, no events, nothing.

We owe so much to the efforts of Robert & Craigie, Janet & Kent, Bill, Bruce and Steven.

As well as our 2 newest members, Brad and Brett.

Next, was a report on the challenges and successes of this year.

The biggest challenges have been bridges, liability issues and manpower.

The future of both the South (Quiver) Creek Bridge and Hunters Bridge is in need of much discussion.

More to follow on this.

The ASC executive is in need of a VP, a treasurer and an events coordinator if we are to keep the ball rolling.

We appreciate the help at our events, like Corinne, John and Carson, who stepped up to help with the Christmas party.

If however, we are going to have our 3rd annual Poker Run and our 48th annual Fish Derby,

we need some people to step up to form an organizing committee.

We can only have these events if we get some help.

On the brighter side, our groomer is back with a new motor in it and our operators are ready to go.

If Mother Nature is good to us, we should be able to provide some great trails again this year.

Last year we finished off with 100 club members, 60 lifetime and 40annual.

Those annual memberships are now due for renewal. Thanks for your support.

A big thank you also goes out for all the support that we have had from our business advertisers and our landowners.

Moving on to the awards.

Groomer Operators. In attendance were Pete, Bruce and John who were recognized for their hard work grooming the trails.

Landowners. A draw was held to thank 5 random landowners for their generosity in letting us use their property.

Volunteers Of The Year. This year it was Brad Dewar and Ryan Waters. Both worked very hard and gave of their time to keep our trails open. Thanks guys.

The Scott Hayden Award. This is given out in recognition of a "lifetime of service" to ASC. Thank you to Dan Boothby for his many years of service and support.

Finally, Scott and Lynda were recognized for their support of the club as they go into their retirement.

Tec Hungerford gave a moving speech about Scott as did Paul Murray's letter and a thank you from the OFSC for Scott's 37 years of service.

That's it.

Great party.

Great people.

Thank you all.
