Trail conditions Feb 10, 2024

"These are the worst conditions that I have seen in 40 years of riding up here", Lee Argen, New York.

Well, that about says it all.

No snow and no cold.

The roads are bare pavement so road running is impossible.

Due to thin ice, we have only been able to stake one lake.

There is so little snow in the woods that the drag has been hitting ground, exposing boulders and pulling up rocks.

One of our more energetic volunteers went out and threw 100 rocks off the trail.

Still, we are hitting numerous rocks and some sleds are overheating during trail inspections.

With no snow, plus 8 degrees and rain this afternoon, the trails will have to remain red again this weekend.

Sorry folks, but we are doing the best we can, with NOTHING to work with.

Next week shows colder temps.

This may help the lakes but what good is that if they are bare ice?

We need some snow. Lots of snow.

With family day weekend coming up, we are hoping that things turn around quickly.

Keep an eye on the OFSC ITG (Interactive Trail Guide) for updates.
